victims of conflict is both cruelly irresponsible and dangerous. Millions of childhoods are lost to the ravages of war that rob children of the peaceful and stable environment that our own children enjoy. These traumatized youth are raised conditioned to hate, with a devastating effect on their communities and, in our globalizing world, the safety of our own citizens.
Left with limited options, generation after generation turns to violence as the only way to cope. These children, who have never been given the opportunity to excel, feel trapped behind walls of desperation.
On the other hand, children who live in peaceful countries with limitless resources, live without knowing how blessed they are and don’t understand how those children in poor countries live, it is the objective of Inspiring Kids to bring these walls down in both ends, for the poor to have the capacity to see beyond their miseries and be able to dream, for the children in rich countries, to have opportunities to see how the poor children live and be able to lift them up, and be inspired to do use to the maximum the opportunities they have, but more importantly to give these young kids to discover that true riches is a joyful heart.
Our organization intends to open new doors and offer these kids an alternative path, with a focus on the African nations (Uganda, Somalia, Rwanda, Sudan etc…) and North America. Firstly, we will enrich existing schools with limited resources in order to equip them with better teaching methods and materials in a way that will both improve local education and encourage sentiments of self-worth. We will bring qualified speakers from America to inspire kids in poor countries and vice versa.
Secondly, we want to maintain a visiting mentor program in which professionals and accomplished students can visit their countries of origin to meet with and inspire children from their local communities. Millions of Americans with origins in developing countries are eager to make an impact in their African ethnic homelands. Lastly, it is our hope to provide scholarship money to exceptional students who wish to pursue higher educational opportunities abroad. In this way, opportunities can be increased for those who have not before been provided the chance to reach their full potentials.
By addressing the educational disadvantages present in areas of conflict, Inspiring Kids will tackle the issue of underdevelopment by providing children with other means of moving forward in their lives. We will create a window to opportunities that have been hidden to bright minds clouded from the negative effects of post-war violence. In doing so, we will be able to reach out to children in need and create a more harmonious, peaceful world in the process. |
